NEWS

Lent

  • Lent starts on Wednesday February 18 and runs until Easter and is an important part of the church calendar.
  • Lent is about fasting from something in order to grow closer to Christ, while at the same time gathering together with others to feast throughout Lent (often on Sundays).
  • Check out this page for more information on Lent.
  • Many small groups are going to be fasting and feasting this year. If you are not a part of a small group, but would like to join a group to fast and feast through Lent, you can sign up online or by replying to this email.

Giving at FGBC

  • Did you know there a number of different ways you can give at FGBC? If you want more information, head to our website.

Rental Inquiries

  • As a church, we occasionally get requests from people looking to rent a room or a suite for a few days to a few months, as they are in Prince George for a portion of schooling. Often these requests come with references from their church back home.
  • Do you have a room or a suite that you would potentially be willing to rent out if the inquiry ever came in?

Small Groups

  • Did you know we have many different small groups meeting throughout the week? The goal of these groups is to build relationships and grow as a follower of Jesus.
  • This year, we are aiming to have small groups meet for 10 weeks at a time, before taking a break for a few weeks. This gives you a chance to connect even if you don't have the capacity to connect for an entire year.
  • To see what groups are available, or to sign up, click here.

Student Ministry Registrations

  • All minors who are involved in student ministry at Fort George Baptist Church are required to have a current registration form filled out. This includes any ministry where your child is left in the care of a screened volunteer, including, but not limited to Toddler Room, Sunday School, and Youth Ministry.
  • This form is in effect for children's ministry taking place during the period of September 1, 2025-August 31, 2026.
  • You can register online here. All online registrations will require an in person parental signature once ministry sessions begin in September.
  • Alternatively, paper copies of this registration form are available at the church office.

LAUGH OF THE WEEK

FUN THINGS TO DO ON AN ELEVATOR WHILE BORED

~ Ask if you can push the button for other people, but push the wrong ones.

~ Bring a camera and take pictures of everyone in the elevator.

~ Crack open your briefcase or purse, and while peering inside, ask, "Got enough air in there?"

~ Hold the doors open and say you're waiting for your friend. After a while, let the doors close and say, "Hi Greg. How's your day been?"

~ Lay down the twister mat and ask people if they would like to play.

~ Listen to the elevator walls with your stethoscope.

~ Pretend you are a flight attendant and review emergency procedures and exits with the passengers.

~ Push the buttons and pretend they give you a shock. Smile, and go back for more.

~ Stand silently and motionless in the corner, facing the wall, without getting off.

~ Swat at flies that don't exist.

~ When there's only one other person in the elevator, tap them on the shoulder and then pretend it wasn't you.
